Water baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision to follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of your life. Not only does the Bible command us to be baptized, but Jesus Himself was water baptized by immersion. It is the first step of obedience after meeting Jesus personally. It is a response to God’s good gifts to us, and it is an act of worship toward Him. If you are visiting our website, but Arise is not your church family, we do not expect you to give. There is no obligation to give at any of our worship services. The church is a place for healing, encouragement, and learning. The church is also a catalyst for people to spread the love and hope of Jesus. In order to fulfill that mission, we must develop a healthy, vibrant relationship with Jesus and with others. Here are some ways we can grow in our faith. Join us weekly at Arise for our service on Sunday mornings @ 10 AM. Also, Arise is a praying church and we gather as a congregation every Wednesday night at 7:00pm for prayer and Bible study. During this service, we pray for God's guidance for our church as well as the needs of our church, the community, nation, and the world! PLAN YOUR VISIT Continue Daily Read Your Bible The Bible is God’s "user manual" for life. Just as we need to continually breathe oxygen to survive, we need to regularly study the Bible to grow and thrive spiritually. Your New Believer's Bible contains helpful information on how to begin and continue healthy Bible study habits. All good relationships need good communication. Your relationship with God is no exception. Even Jesus himself took time to pray to God for guidance and direction. If Jesus felt the need to pray, how much more do we need to do it? Prayer may seem intimidating but it doesn't have to be. Read Luke 11:1-13 to learn how the disciples sought Jesus' direction on how to pray and Jesus gave them the perfect model to follow. CONNECT CALENDAR ARISE KIDS ARISE YOUTH DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS Connect in the Word and with others Beginning in September, we will complete our two-part series from the Minor Prophets, which are made up of the twelve books that conclude the Old Testament: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi. We covered Hosea through Micah in the spring and will finish up with Nahum through Malachi this fall. These twelve books of the Bible were penned by prophets who lived during difficult times in Israel’s history. The term "minor" here is unrelated to achievement or importance, but simply a term of comparison to the five much longer books known as the Major Prophets. We will be aided in our study by taking time to consider the historical context of each book to better understand the situations that the prophets were addressing. This will help us make better application to our own present-day lives. A better understanding of these books of the Bible will provide both a clearer and broader understanding of all of God’s Word. Men's and women's groups will be available for teens, young adults, and adults in sizes small enough to encourage study and discussion.
